CAIRO – 10 January 2020: The Arab Theater Institute will celebrate the Arab Theater Day on January 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the headquarters of the institute in Sharjah.

The celebration includes the screening of a short video presentation of excerpts from the messages of the Arab Theatre Day patrons from 2008 to 2020.

This will be followed by a word from the Theatrical Association and the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO); and the word of the Secretary General of the Arab Theater Institute writer, Ismail Abdullah.

The Arab Theater Institute will also announce the winners of the scientific research competition for the year 2020, and the winners of the 13th theatrical composition competition for adults and children.

It is noteworthy that January 10 was selected to be the Arab Theatre Day, as it is the date of the establishment of the Arab Theater Institute. Arab playwrights chose this day because it witnessed the birth of the institute in which they saw a lifeline and considered an Arab day of theater with the blessing of the participants in the founding conference of the organization held on January 2, 2008.
