CAIRO - 8 January 2020: The Japanese handball team visited Pyramids of Giza on January 8.

The team is one of the 32 teams participating in the 27th edition of the 2021 World Handball Championship for Men, hosted by Egypt from January 13 to 31.

The Japanese team was very keen to visit the pyramids, the Sphinx, during its presence in Egypt, while adhering to the precautionary measures and health safety regulations stipulated by the International Handball Federation for members of the participating teams and those set by the ministry in archaeological sites and museums in Egypt.

This comes is  in line with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' participation in the Championship by presenting touristic programs for the teams participating in the tournament and for the fans coming from abroad to root for their teams.

It is worth noting that this team was the first of the 32 teams to arrive to Cairo.
