CAIRO – 5 January 2020:  The Museum of Islamic Art, in cooperation with the Baron Empain Palace in Heliopolis, continues with the activities of two art exhibitions entitled "Treasures of Lead" at the Museum of Islamic Art, and "From Bab el-Khalq” to Heliopolis" exhibition at Baron Empain Palace, in celebration of the 117th anniversary of the opening of the Museum of Islamic Art at Bab el-Khalq.

The exhibition "Treasures of Lead" is the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East, as it displays sculptures made by artists on pencils for a number of the museum's archaeological holdings.

The exhibition "From Bab el-Khalq to Heliopolis" includes 35 photographs of the artifacts inside the Museum of Islamic Art to reflect the artistic, cultural and historical links between the museum and the palace.

The museum will conclude its free activities on January 13. The events include artistic workshops, an interactive cultural forum and related lectures.
