Egyptian participation in Algeria in 2020 - ET

CAIRO – 22 December 2020: Through its various sectors, the Egyptian Ministry of Culture has participated in a number of international intellectual and artistic events in 2020.

 

Initially, the General Egyptian Book Organization participated in the New Delhi, Casablanca, Muscat, and Sharjah International Book fairs.

 

The Academy of Arts also organized the second scientific conference entitled "African Women, the Icon of the Brown Continent" online.

 

The Theater Art House participated with the show "Ana Carmen" [I am Carmen] in the International Women's Monodrama Festival in Algeria and won an award for best performance.

 

Also, The “Harem El Nar” show participated in the activities of the 27th International Festival of Experimental Theater.

 

Egypt succeeded in registering the handwoven fabric in Upper Egypt on the UNESCO Urgent Preservation Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage, through the efforts of the Ministries of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is the fifth file that was recorded.

 

Furthermore, the Supreme Council of Culture also organized a number of online seminars and intellectual meetings in which writers and thinkers from Arab and foreign countries participated, including  Iraq, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Oman, Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Algeria, Kuwait, Palestine, Belgium, France, Italy and Sudan.

 

The Egyptian Opera House theaters hosted a number of local and visiting foreign troupes, including Cairo Steps (Egypt), The Royal Georgia Ballet, Milano Ballet, Heilongjiang Symphony Orchestra (China), World India Day, 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Egyptian-Korean Relations, in addition to a music band from Chile and Czech Republic.
