CAIRO – 17 December 2020: The Giza Culture Palace, affiliated to the General Authority of Culture Palaces, presented on the branch’s official YouTube page a tour of the Manial Palace Museum on Wednesday, as part of the Ministry of Culture’s initiative under the slogan “Culture is Between your Hands.”

Manial Palace is one of the most important historical palaces in Egypt. It was established by Prince Mohammad Ali, who is the second son of Khedive Tawfiq and brother of Khedive Abbas Helmi II.

He was regent on the throne of Egypt after the death of his uncle, King Fouad the First, until his cousin King Farouk I took over the rule of Egypt.

Prince Mohammad recommended that the palace be turned into a museum after his death.

It was built in 1901 on Manial Island. The palace is an architectural masterpiece that bears a mixture of Fatimid, Mamluk, Ottoman, Andalusian and Persian arts.
