CAIRO - 13 December 2020: In its efforts to increase and spread archaeological awareness among the public and highlight Egyptian archaeological museums, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’s Museum of Islamic Art at Bab Al-Khalq launched a series of introductory episodes about the museum and its  artifacts called “A Tale”.

Mamdouh Othman, Director General of the Museum of Islamic Art, explained that the series is a collection of videos that will be shown every month, telling us the history of the museum and its archaeological collections, in a simple and easy way to reach all ages and societal groups.

He added that the first of these episodes will be about the story of the gate of Sayeda Zeinab, which is at the main hall of the museum.

It is noteworthy that the gate of Sayeda Zeinab is one of the largest silver-armored doors in the world, and the gate was transferred to the Museum of Islamic Art from the Mosque of Sayeda Zeinab, and it represents the extent of integration and artistic mastery in the implementation of Islamic decorations.
