CAIRO – 6 December 2020:  The Kubbat el-Ghoury Creativity Center affiliated to the Cultural Development Fund sector, will host on December 6 at 8 p.m. an artistic evening for the Syrian "Tawachih" troupe, in cooperation with the Dialogue Foundation for the Arts of Peoples' Cultures.

 

The "Tawachih" group was founded in Egypt by the Syrian vocalist Adnan el-Sassa in 2012.

 

During the evening, the troupe will present art of hearing from the heritage of ancient Syrian cities, a collection of recitals and ancient traditional songs.

 

It is reported that the artist Adnan el-Sassa, born in Damascus, began his artistic career at the age of 12 years with his older brother Abdul Rahman as hobbyists.

 

He studied at the hands of Professor Tawfiq Al-Halabi, and learned from him the art of invocation, reciting and rhythm, and then studied under Dr. Saeed Qotb at the Institute of Music.
