CAIRO - 4 December 2020: The first day of Cairo Industry Days at the 42nd editon of Cairo International Film Festival witnessed a seminar for acclaimed writer Christopher Hampton moderated by CIFF head Mohamed Hefzy.

 

Hampton indulged the audience with the greatest stories about the cinema industry

The acclaimed writer spoke about the updated script of “ The Father” movie.

 


Hampton added that he has accepted that every different project has its different problems.

“ With “ The Father” unusually I was actually writing it together with the director” Hampton said.

Christopher Hampton explained that what they did in “ The Father” was very unusual process.

“What happens in real life is more interesting than what happens in fiction” Hampton admitted.

Hampton added that he is actually very scrupulous of sticking to the facts.
 
The 42nd edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) kicked off on December 2, amid strict precautionary measures, and in accordance to the requirements presented by the Egyptian ministry of health and the World Health Organization.


CIFF head Mohamed Hefzy presented Lifetime Achievement Award to Hampton.

 

Hefzy said that Hampton has a strong relationship with Egypt.


Christopher Hampton explained that he spent 5 years from his childhood in Alexandria.

“ My father was a huge fan of cinema and he used to take me to see films and that’s how my love for cinema was born” Hampton said.

Hampton said that Lifetime Achievement Award is something scary because it may mean that the journey came to its end.

“I love this country and I dedicate this award to Egypt” Hampton said.
