CAIRO – 1 December 2020: Archbishop Claudio Lorati the Latin Apostolic Vicar in Egypt, Madline Tabar, President of the Arab Society for Graduates of Russian Universities and Director of Cultural Activity at the Russian Center Sherif Gad and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cairo Atelier Ahmed el-Ganayni will inaugurate an exhibition of potters in the village of Garagos, one of the villages of Qena Governorate, which is famous for its handicrafts of ceramics and carpets, on December 3 at 5 p.m. at the Heart of Jesus Church at the Lawyer’s Syndicate.

The artistic workshop was founded by the architectural artist Hassan Fathy at the request of one of the French monks of Jesus in the year 53 who was living in the village.

Their works are inspired by the Upper Egyptians environment, until their fame has reached global horizons when lovers of their arts visited their village, such as the King and Queen of Sweden, late artist Faten Hamama, the late Abdel Rahman el-Abnoudi and other international artists.
