CAIRO – 29 November 2020: El-Hanager Arts Center, affiliated to the Cultural Production Affairs Sector, will host the theatrical performance "Red Dress" by the Basma Art, Development and Psychological Support Team, on November 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the center’s  Hoda Wasfi Hall.

"Red Dress" is a theatrical show that deals with issues of gender-based violence such as women’s forced circumcision, harassment, early marriage, and domestic violence. The show also aims to empower, support and enhance the role of women.

It is directed by Sherif el-Qazaz.

Qazaz said the show is the result of a training workshop with a team of trainees, most of whom have never previously acted or stood on stage. They were trained in the different arts of drama, with the aim of using the arts, especially psycho-drama, in addressing various social issues, and bringing about positive changes at the psychological and social level.
