CAIRO – 18 November 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem launches -for the first time- the first Opera Book Fair, which is set to be held in El-Hanager Art Center.

 

 

The first Opera Book Fair is organized by the General Egyptian Book Organization in cooperation with a number of sectors of the ministry. The opening will be held on November 19 at 6 p.m. in the external Opera Square.

 

 

Abdel Dayem said that the first Opera Book Fair comes within the framework of enriching the system of cultural service provided to the people of Egypt and aims to support and revitalize the publishing movement and the book industry. It is also a new addition to the series of book fairs in various parts of the country.

 

 

The Minister of Culture added that the exhibition embodies the Ministry of Culture’s keenness to spread enlightenment and confront intolerance in all its forms by developing cognitive awareness by encouraging reading as books is the most important source of knowledge.

 

 

She emphasized that the exhibition is in line with the efforts made to support the publishing industry and the associated axes of desired sustainable development.

 

 

The book fair will run until November 28, and is held on an area of ​​850 square meters with the participation of 32 publishing houses in addition to the various sectors of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, including the General Egyptian Book Organization, the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, the National Library and Archives, in addition to the participation of Dar Al Maarif.

 

 

Visiting hours start at 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
