CAIRO – 5 November 2020: Egypt’s Fine Arts Sector presents a group of artworks for the plastic artist Ahmed Nawar, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fine Arts Lovers Association, within the activities of the 59th Cairo Salon, which is currently held at the Palace of Arts in the Egyptian Opera House. The salon will run until November 7.

 

Plastic artist Ahmed Nawar was born in Gharbia on June 3, 1945. He received a BA in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Engraving, Cairo, in 1967. 

 

He then achieved a Diploma in Graphic Art from the San Fernando Academy in Madrid in 1974 and a Diploma in Mural Painting from San Fernando Academy in Madrid in 1975, until he obtained a professorship in painting from the San Fernando Academy in Madrid, "equivalent to an Egyptian PhD," in the same year 1975.

 

The pioneering artist Ahmed Nawar has a long journey and career with plastic art, through which he was able to contribute to transforming art formation in his motherland and the Arab world, and influenced the movement of modern art through studies and experiences that spanned over 40 years.

 

It is worth noting that around 85 artists, representing different generations and various artistic fields, participate in the 59th Cairo Salon. This is in addition to honoring 9 artists.
