Numerous cultural, artistic events to be held on Oct. 22

CAIRO – 22 October 2020: A number of cultural and artistic events will be held in several creativity entities on October 22, 2020.

Beit al-Suhaymi Creativity Center in Al-Muizz Street, affiliated to the Cultural Development Fund Sector, will host the theatrical performance "Toman Bay before the End" at 7 p.m. The play will be performed by Shathaya Theatrical Troupe.

The show revolves around the last days of Sultan Tuman Bay and his epic resistance of the Ottomans, headed by Sultan Selim I, in their conquest of Egypt. The play sheds light on the power struggle during that period, illustrating the heroism of Toman Bay and the people of Egypt in resisting the invaders.

The Egyptian Opera House is organizing an artistic concert for the Alexandria Opera Ensemble for Arabic Music and Singing, led by Maestro Ihab Abdel Hamid.

Moreover, the Youth Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture is organizing a seminar entitled "Cultural and academic scholarships abroad and their impact on youth and community development" at 5 p.m. in the Supreme Council of Culture’s Main Hall.
