CAIRO – 18 October 2020: The Greater Cairo Library, affiliated to the Cultural Production Affairs Sector is holding a seminar to discuss the book "October 73 The Great Egyptian War" by journalist Ahmed el-Sarsawy, on October 21 at 6 p.m. at the library's headquarters in Zamalek.

The symposium comes within the celebrations of Egypt’s Ministry of Culture

of the 47th anniversary of the Glorious October Victory.

The book presents a rare collection of pictures, some of which are published for the first time. It also includes readings about the conditions of the war, the land, and battles in Sinai, in addition to a group of conversations with the families of the victory makers, including Jehan el-Sadat, wife of the late President Anwar el-Sadat, wife of Field Marshal Ahmed Ismail, wife of  Lieutenant General Saad el-Shazly, and the family of Brigadier General Ibrahim al-Rifai.

“In this book, the journalist and war correspondent, Al-Siddiq Ahmad el-Sarsawi, presents some new side stories about the October 1973 war, despite those years passing by, in the words of those who lived it moment by moment,” said Military analyst, Major General  Samir Farag.
