CAIRO – 4 October 2020: Coinciding with the celebrations commemorating the October victories, Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem will grant certificates to the first batch of graduates of the Industrialists of Egypt initiative, launched by the Ministry of Culture -represented by the Cultural Development Fund- in 2019.

The Egyptian culture minister will hand the graduates their certificates on October 6 at 6 p.m. at the Fustat Traditional Crafts Center.

Abdel Dayem said that the Industrialists of Egypt initiative was launched upon the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with the aim of training and qualifying new technical cadres in the field of heritage and traditional crafts through specialized study programs.

She added that the initiative is working to revive part of the artistic heritage that characterizes the Egyptian civilization; it comes in line with the state’s approach to establishing small and micro enterprises that contribute to creating more job opportunities to boost national income.

Abdel Dayem emphasized that developing heritage and traditional handicrafts is one of the most important Egyptian culture action plans to preserve the unique national identity.

The graduation ceremony program will start with the opening of an exhibition of the most creative works produced by the trainees during their qualification stages. This will be followed by a presentation of the various stages of the initiative project, and it will conclude with granting the training completion certificates.
