CAIRO – 1 October 2020: Several cultural and artistic events will be held in many organizations and cultural centers, including the Alexandria Book Fair, a press conference to announce the nominations for state awards, Al-Hanager Cinema Salon and the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the birth of the leader Mahatma Gandhi.

The Alexandria Book Fair is launched in the land of Kouta, which is inaugurated by Minister of Culture, Inas Abdel Dayem, to be the first local authority exhibition after a period of hiatus to limit the spread of coronavirus. The fair will take place on October 1-10.

This came after a set of new decisions taken by the Supreme Committee for Coronavirus Crisis Management headed by Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Council for Culture holds a press conference to announce the details of the State Incentive Awards and the State Award for Excellence in arts, literature, social sciences, economic and legal sciences for the year 2021.

It was scheduled for 3 p.m. and was postponed until after sunset, at exactly 6 p.m. in light of mourning the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and in compliance with the state's decisions.

The Hanager Cinema in the Cairo Opera House, headed by Fathy Abdel Wahab, will host the documentary cinema salon, titled "The Arts of Sculpture, Painting and Architecture in Ancient Egypt", at 7 p.m., on the occasion of the New Ancient Egyptian Year. Also, the salon displays the documentary film "Professions, Crafts and Industries", as well as "Hunting in Ancient Egypt".

The Red Corner Library, affiliated to the Egypt Public Library, is organizing a celebration entitled "The 100th Anniversary of the Birth of the Leader Mahatma Gandhi", at 12 p.m., in co-operation with the Indian Embassy in Cairo and Maulana Azad Indian Cultural Center.
