CAIRO – 27 September 2020: Egypt’s General Authority for Culture Palaces, through the Central Administration for Artistic Affairs, organized an artistic celebration to commemorate late artist Samir el-Eskandarany at the Giza Cultural Center Theater on September 30 at 7 p.m. The concert will be performed by the Culture Palaces Ensemble.

Eskandarany passed away at 82 on August 14, 2020, after a long struggle with illness.

Furthermore, Eskandarani is not just an important singer with a history of musical creations. He is also viewed as a national hero, holding an honorable file in the Egyptian intelligence.

He was an Egyptian singer and painter, who helped the Egyptian General Intelligence to capture a large network of spies inside Egypt, deluding the Israeli enemy for more than a year and a half.

Eskandarani was dubbed “the fox” due to his great intelligence, and his success in entrapping a senior officer in the Mossad, before handing him over to the Egyptian authorities. He also fooled one of the most dangerous Israeli intelligence officers deployed in Egypt and got him arrested. His name was Moise Judd Sward.
