CAIRO – 17 August 2020: The ancient Egyptian civilization is full of secrets and mysteries, which attract researchers to conduct studies on the ancient Egyptian history.

Recently a new documentary film entitled "Hidden Symbols of the Great Pyramids" was released proving that the ancient builders had a deeper understanding of astronomy than previously thought.

It was confirmed through the film that the Great Pyramid of Cheops consists of eight sides and not four.

The expert of Egyptian antiquities, Hussein Abdel-Basir, said that the sides of the Great Pyramid of Cheops are four sides and not eight as was stated by some individuals who are obsessed with the ancient Egyptian civilization and especially the Pyramid of Cheops, who try to distort Egyptian antiquities with strange theories that have no scientific basis.

Abdel-Basir added that it is known that the Great Pyramid of Cheops is a tetrahedron, and its base is a regular polygon. Abdel Basir- further explained that as for its sides, they are made of four triangles, and all its triangles are identical. It has the tip of the pyramid completely opposite to the center of the base.

Furthermore, Abdel-Basir continued, that the pyramid, according to the shape of its base, is square; it is known as the square pyramid and that the Great Pyramid of Cheops is not octagonal and has no base in the form of an octagonal polygon and it has no eight triangular faces.

According to Abdel-Basir, it is believed that the Great Pyramid of Cheops when it was first built reached 280 feet in height on the Egyptian scale 146.5 meters (480.6 feet).

However, with erosion and the absence of its pyramidal segment, its current height is 138.8 meters (455.4 feet).

Each side of the base was 440 cubits, or 230.4 meters (755.9 feet) long and 230.4 meters (755.9 feet) long.
