CAIRO – 13 August 2020: The Giza Culture Palace, affiliated to the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, displayed a portrait which is considered one of the most beautiful contemporary art works as part of the Ministry of Culture initiative launched under the slogan “Culture is between your hands.”

The artwork is titled "Banat Bahri" by the Egyptian artist Mahmoud Saeed, drawn in 1937.

Saeed's paintings feature an emphasis on the third dimension to highlight illumination and embody shapes and nature.

“Banat Bahari” is one of the most beautiful and famous paintings in modern art. It is made of a variety of oil colors on canvas, in which the artist depicts three Bahri girls in distinctive folk costume.

The artist has excelled in expressing the facial features of Egyptian girls of that region, and the light Burqa that the girls of Bahri covered their faces with as part of their traditional costumes, in addition to the Abaya that they used to put over their clothes.

He magnificently  expressed the color of the brown/bronze skin tone of the beautiful Bahari girls.
