CAIRO – 12 August 2020: The Supreme Council of Culture is hosting Sherif Awad, professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, to deliver a lecture entitled "Creative Economics and Investment in Cultural Industries" on August 12 at 8:30 p.m.

This comes within the framework of the "Culture Between Your Hands" initiative launched by Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, and also comes as part of the cultural events that are presented online under the title (Online Culture) organized by the Supreme Council of Culture headed by Hisham Azmy.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Council of Culture's also launched Read with Us initiative to create the largest possible space for communication between writers and creators from different countries and different generations of readers, informing interested people about examples of their work and creativity.

Within the initiative's activities, a writer/poet/scholar chooses a chapter from their book, research, novel, a short story or a poem, and presents it in a video. The video is then sent to the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Culture for them to prepare and broadcast it on YouTube and Facebook.

The Ministry of Culture’s portal contains rare cultural content.  The slogan of the portal and its aim is to reach 100 million Egyptian intellectuals, and to spread the Egyptian culture and raise its stature among the countries of the world.

The portal also facilitates reaching the services provided by the ministry through its offices in various governorates by allowing citizens to apply for the services and obtain the necessary licenses online.
