CAIRO – 5 August 2020: The Arab Publishers Association (APA), headed by Mohamed Rashad, expressed deep sadness with the current situation in Lebanon due to the explosion that took place in Beirut on Tuesday evening, leaving a number of fatalities and injuries.

"The APA announces its support and solidarity with the Lebanese people in general, and the Lebanese publishers in particular, and we pray to God to extradite them from every misfortune, preserve them and heal the wounded of this painful catastrophe, as we offer condolences to the families of the victims and we pray to God to grant them patience and solace in losing their loved ones,” the union announced in a statement released Wednesday.

The APA called on the Arab and international communities to support the Lebanese people, who have been going through difficult and exceptional circumstances for a while, and strive to preserve their unity, cohesion and security.
