CAIRO – 23 July 2020: Late legendary comedian Ismail Yassin was very popular in Egypt and the entire Arab world. At the peak of his fame, the state supported him in presenting a series of films that had an important role in encouraging Egyptian youth to join the national weapons.

The films included “Ismail Yassin in the Army”, “Ismail Yassin in the Marines” and “Ismail Yassin in the Air-force”. All these films were in support of the Egyptian revolution that took place on July 23, 1952 and the Egyptian army.

The start was with "Ismail Yassin in the Army" which motivated youth to volunteer in the Egyptian army. And as the film achieved great success, Yassin presented the army-film series that also achieved booming success.

 

Yassin formed a strong artistic bond with his friend Abul-Saud el-Ebyari, the result of which was a group of 18 successful films bearing his name.

 

The film "Ismail Yassin in the Army" revolves around Zaki (Ismail Yassin), the poor young man who is called upon to join the army. He finds it difficult to obey army orders and from here a lot of funny situations arise. He fell in love with Samira. However Al-Shaweesh Attia (Riyad al-Qasbagi) tries to win her heart, which makes it more difficult for Zaki to marry her. 

 

Zaki eventually wins Samira’s heart as the army changes him to a more responsible person.
