Rehearsals taking place in Fayoum Culture Palace under strict precautionary measures - ET
CAIRO – 9 July 2020: Ahmed Awad, head of the General Authority for Culture Palaces, visited the Fayoum Culture Palace, affiliated to the Greater Cairo and Northern Upper Egypt cultural regions.
The visit came as part of Awad’s second inspection tour in various culture branches to follow up on the precautionary measures taken to confront the spread of COVID-19 ahead of resuming the cultural activities on July 15.
The head of the authority visited the children's library, and stressed the need to broadcast all the child-related activities online. He also inspected the information technology hall and directed the need to adhere to social-distancing among the attendees. A maximum number of six individuals only can attend the cultural programs at a time.
Furthermore, Awad inspected the Grand Theater in the Fayoum Culture Palace, and instructed to separate seats by plastic strips to ensure committing to social-distancing. Awad also checked the precautions taken in Al-Shohada Hall, and the Music Hall, which housed rehearsals for the Arab Music Ensemble ahead of the first concert scheduled on July 15.
In addition, Awad stressed the necessity of adhering to the precautionary measures, explaining that performing concerts/shows can only be held in the Open Theater and in the Lobby of the palace.
He also directed that the precautionary instructions should be placed at the entrance to the palace and in all areas, to remind visitors and personnel of wearing a face mask and applying social-distancing during the activities.
