CAIRO – 8 July 2020: Egyptian novelist Ahmed Murad will celebrate the release of his new novel "Locandet Bir Al-Wattawit" in a live broadcast on Dar al-Shorouk page on July 15 at 9 p.m.

 

Dar al-Shorouk announced earlier the date of issuing Murad's seventh novel "Locandet Bir Al-Wattawit" after his intense cinematic activity with the films "Torab Almas” in 2018 and "Blue Elephant P2” in 2019.

 

Ahmed Murad's writing career started in 2007 with his first novel, "Vertigo", followed by the novel "Torab Almas" in 2010.

 

In 2012, he presented his third novel “The Blue Elephant”, which was shortlisted at the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, Booker Awards, in 2014, the same year his fourth novel "1919" was published.

 

He published the novel “Ard al-Ellah” [The Land of God] in 2016. The events of the novel take place in ancient Egypt, tracing a secret that is cleverly concealed among the lines of the most sacred books of the Egyptian civilization. In 2017, Murad took us to the future in his sixth novel “Mosem Said el-Ghezlan” [Deer Hunting Season]. In the same year, Murad won the Egyptian State Prize for Excellence in Literature.
