Egypt’s Supreme Council of Culture’s activities to resume on July 9

CAIRO – 6 July 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem will launch a program to resume the activities of the Supreme Council of Culture during the months of July, August and September, starting from July 9.

 

Hisham Azmy, head of the Supreme Council of Culture, explained that the cultural activities of the Supreme Council of Culture are resuming, limiting the number of attendees to a maximum of 20 individuals, in compliance with the precautionary measures set by the state to combat the the novel coronavirus. The activities will be broadcast on the Supreme Council of Culture’s official YouTube channel.

 

Azmy added that the Online Culture Initiative program is ongoing and includes separate lectures given by specialists, accompanied by sign language translation and broadcast on Wednesdays. Also, the “Read with Us” series is broadcast on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; the “Everyday A Poet” series is broadcast on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays; and a series of documentary films on the flags of plastic art and architecture is broadcast on Mondays and Wednesdays.

 

The activities of the Supreme Council of Culture are resumed with a number of seminars and intellectual evenings that discuss a range of contemporary issues, including bullying on July 9, Jobs of the future and the role of emerging technology on July 16, the individual's role in supporting the state and its institutions in crises on July 22 and the effect of digital culture on the educational system and the culture of the Egyptian child on July 30.

 

Furthermore, August program includes literary evenings that deal with the history of Egypt and Egypt after Corona: The social and psychological effects on August 10; digital transformation and digital culture - legal challenges on August 13; a role model for young people - Between the family and social media on August 17; the role of the post-Corona media on August 20; and the impact of digital culture on university education on August 27.

 

Meanwhile, the September program includes seminars that discuss post-Corona issues: Political and economic impacts, changes and trends, the labor market on September 1, rumors and their negative effects politically and economically on September 6, Egypt’s vision 2030 and the role of the common man on September 13, the history of Egypt and its antiquities on September 20, people with special needs and the digital gap on September 24, and Education beyond COVID-19 September 29.
