Eid brings Ahmed Rateb, Mazhar Abul Naga to screen one last time

CAIRO – 25 June 2017: Late actors Ahmed Rateb and Mazhar Abul Naga’ last performances were in films that aired this Eid.

Abul Naga appears in the film starring Mohamed Heneidy, called Antar Ibn Ibn Ibn Ibn Shaddad (Antarah son of son of son of son of Shaddad), as one of the senior residents of a mountain whom Heneidy meets while in search for his grandfather Antar’s sword.

Abul Naga’s acting career spanned over 50 years. He died aged 76 on May 1. The actor, who was most famous for his comedy roles, is also expected to appear in El Daher, a tv series which has yet to be released.

Ahmed Rateb, who passed away aged 67 last December, also appears on screen this Eid as Mohamed Ramdan’s father in Gawab E’tekal (Letter of Arrest). Rateb’s death came in as a shock to his fans after he suffered from heart complications
