CAIRO – 23 June 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that since taking office, she has begun developing the regulations and laws for the State's Appreciation Awards.

Abdel Dayem noted that these awards are nominated through Egyptian universities and government institutions.

Abdel Dayem added in a phone call on Monday to "Kol Yom" [Everyday] program broadcast on On E and presented by Khaled Abu-Bakr, that the new list of the State Appreciation Awards was approved on June 20.

When Abu-Bakr asked the minister to propose amending the rule that requires that those nominated for State Appreciation Awards must be alive, Abdel Dayem welcomed this suggestion and pledged to consider this matter, because it is also necessary to honor many of those who passed away.

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem and the president of the Supreme Council of Culture, announced the winners of the State’s Appreciation Awards, Nile Awards, the State’s Excellence Award and the State’s Encouragement Awards in the fields of arts, literature, social sciences, economy and Law.

This came after the meeting held with Hisham Azmy, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Culture and the council members to conduct electronic voting on the awards at the Cairo Opera House's Grand Theater.
