CAIRO - 24 April 2020: With everyone in lockdown, this Ramadan will be unlike any other. Against all odds, Egypt’s stars have managed to film through the quarantine to make sure audiences get their soap opera fix. Here’s what to watch:




1- W Neheb Tany Leih (Why Fall in Love Again?)

Superstar Yasmine Abdel Aziz takes the lead in this new series which revolves around a beautiful engineer named Ghalia Abdel Rahman and the dilemmas she faces in her love relationships, as she debates whether to fall in love again or not. Directed by Mostafa Fekry and written by Amr Mahmoud Yassin, W Neheb Tany Leih? tackles marriage and family problems through a number of comedic events. Sherif Moneer, Karim Fahmy, Sawsan Badr, Tara Emad, Emad Rashad, Caroline Azmy and Ola Roshdy co-star in the Synergy production.

2- Forsa Tania (Another Chance)

Forsa Tania tells the story of Malak, a young engineer who experiences many failures in her relationships because she always puts her work first. Later, Malak finds herself a prey to greedy predators. The series is directed by Morqus Adel, written by Mostafa Gamal Hashem and produced by Synergy. Yasmine Sabri, Ahmed Magdy, Edward, Ayten Amer, Diab, Heba Abdelghani, Amr El-Shennawy, Sarah el-Shamy, Mahmoud el-Bizawy, Ahmed El-Shamy, Mohamed Gomaa, Nihal Anbar, and Ahmed El-Naggar co-star in the series.

3- Regalet El-Beit (Men of the House)

Regalet El-Bait is one of the most anticipated Ramadan series thanks to the great chemistry between the duo Ahmed Fahmy and Akram Hosny, which always leads to great success whether in movies or series.

Ram During the past few years, the duo managed to present several successful works together, starting with the film Kalb Baladi, Hosni’s first acting performance. They also cooperated in the successful series Rayah el-Madame in 2017. Hosni then appeared as a guest of honor in the movie El-Kowayeseen starring Fahmy in addition to the series El-Wad Sayed El-Shahat. Fahmy also appeared as a guest of honor in Hosni’s series El-Waseya (The Legacy).

This comedy revolves around two men, Timon and Bomba, who have responsibilities and live with their grandfather and the rest of the family in the same house. However, through comical situations, the pair proves that they cannot handle any responsibilities.

Wizo, Bayoumi Fouad, Arefah Abdel-Rasoul and Lotfy Labib co-star in the series, and guests of honor include Ayten Amer. Regalet El-Bait is written by Ayman Wattar, directed by Ahmed el Gendy and produced by Synergy.

4- El Nehaya (The End)

In 2019, CEO of United for Media Services Tamer Mursi signed a contract with megastar Youssef El-Sherif to produce El-Nehaya, Egypt’s first science fiction series. The promo of the much-anticipated series garnered thousands of views and managed to grab worldwide attention, with several international media outlets writing about the series which uses the latest international techniques but manages to preserve its Egyptian spirit and taste.

The events of El Nehaya take place in the future. In the year 2120, an engineer tries to deal with the technology and prevent it from threatening the world, but everything changes when he meets a clone robot. Co-starring with El-Sherif are Amr Abdel Geliel, Ahmed Wafik, Nahed El-Sebaie, Sahar el Saygeh among others. The series is written by Amr Samir Atef and directed by Yasser Samy.

The much-anticipated series will witness the comeback of Sherif after a two-year hiatus since his last series Kafr Delhab. El Nehaya, produced by Synergy, will screen exclusively on WATCH iT! and ON TV channels.

5- Layalina 80 (Our Days)

The series takes place between the 1950s and 1980s, highlighting the changes in the lives of different Egyptian families. Layalina stars Ghada Adel, Eyad Nassar, Khaled El-Sawy, and Sabrine. The series is written by Ahmed Abdel Fattah, directed by Ahmed Saleh and produced by Synergy. Catch it on CBC channel.

6- El-Brince

The promo of the series shows disputes and quarrels between Radwan El-Brince (Mohamed Ramadan) and his brothers and sisters, which adds a touch of suspense to the series' incidents. El-Brince co-stars Nour, Ahmed Zaher, Salwa Osman, Naglaa Badr, Rogeina, Mohamed Alaa, Safaa El-Toukhy among others. The series is written and directed by Mohamed Sami and produced by Synergy and will be showing on DMC channel.

7- Game’e Salem

A murder takes place during the series’ events, and puts the heroine in danger. Documents appear after a while which reveal that she was given up by her parents as a baby. Game’e Salem is written by Mohammed Nair and directed by Iman El-Haddad. The series stars Zeina, Dalal Abdel Aziz, Mohammed Shaheen, Salwa Khattab, Reem El-Baroudi, Malak Qura, Mido Adel, Mohamed Alaa, Sameh El-Serieti, Mohammed Desouki, Ayman Azab, Ahmed Sultan and Hanan Suleiman.

8- Valantino

To celebrate Adel Emam's birthday in 2019, CEO of United for Media Services Tamer Mursi signed the contract with Egyptian megastar Adel Emam to produce the series Valantino. The series will screen exclusively on WATCH iT!, in addition to DMC channel and is produced by the leading production company Synergy.

The legendary Emam, Egypt’s biggest actor with over four decades of box office hits, series and plays under his belt, plays role of an international school owner named Nour Abdel Mageed, Valantino, whose gloomy wife drives him to fall in love with another woman. Written by Ayman Bahgat Qamar and directed by Ramy Emam, the series stars Dalal Abdel Aziz, Dalia El-Beheiry, Hamdy El-Merghany, Amr Wahba, Huda El-Mufti, Samir Sabry among others.

9- El-Ekhteyar (The Choice)

Starring Amir Karara, El-Ekhteyar tackles the story of late Egyptian Colonel Ahmed El-Mansy, the commander of the Thunderbolt Forces who was killed during the clashes between Egyptian army forces and militants as the army besieged groups of terrorists and foiled attacks that targeted a number of other checkpoints in the Rafah area in North Sinai in 2017.

Mansy was born in 1978 in Sharqia, where his father was the general director of the health unit in the village of Minya El-Qamh village for more than 14 years. He joined the Egyptian battalion in the 1990s, immediately after his graduation from the Military College.

He was assigned as the commander of the battalion in 2016 and was transferred to North Sinai forces three years ago where he took part in several security operations against militants. That year he was awarded by the battalion during the holy month of Ramadan for his excellent performance and his military discipline.

A few months before his death, he sustained a shoulder injury during a security operation in North Sinai and refused to be treated at a hospital, according to his friends on Facebook, after being told he should have taken 15 days rest for complete recovery. He insisted on resuming work at his brigade to defend the homeland.

The much-anticipated series is written by Baher Dewidar, directed by Peter Mimi and produced by Synergy. Dina Fouad, Ahmed Elawady, Dina Adel co-star in addition to notable guests of honor such as Eyad Nassar, Mohamed Emam and Asser Yassin.

10- Al-Fetewa (The Strong Man)

The series is set during the era of the fetewas (strongmen) in Egypt, in the world of ghettos and shabby neighborhoods which were controlled by a group of thugs who bore the responsibility of the people. Yasser Galal stars alongside Ahmed Salah Hosni, Naglaa Badr, Mai Omar, Riyad El-Kholy, Ahmed Khalil, Hanady Mahanna, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Laila Ahmed Zaher, Maha Nassar, Ahmed Gamal Said, Aida Reyad, and Magdy Fekry, among others. Written by Hani Sarhan, directed by Hussein al-Manbawi and produced by Synergy, the series is the second successive cooperation between Yasser Galal, Hany Sarhan, Hussein al-Manbawi and the leading production company Synergy.

11- Omar W Diab

The comic series revolves around two unemployed youths who signed trust receipts and are looking for a job to pay off debts. Starring the two popular comedians Ali Rabie and Mostafa Khater along with Mohamed Mahmoud, Mohsen Mansour, Nihal Anbar, Wizzo and Ahmed Fathy among others, the series is written by Farouk Hashem and Mostafa Omar, directed by Moatez El-Tony and produced by Synergy.

12- Kheyanat Ahd (Ahd’s Betrayal)

Ahd is a woman who owns a clothing factory and is always busy solving her sisters and brothers problems, neglecting her son, who resorts to drugs as a result and becomes addicted. The events of the series develop between Ahed and her family within a social framework. Megastar Yousra leads the cast which also includes Hala Shiha, Khaled Anwar, Abeer Sabry and Hanady Mehana. Kheyanat Ahd is written by Amin Gamal and Ahmed Adel, directed by Sameh Abel Aziz and produced by Synergy and Al Adl Group.

13- Leibet El-Nessyan (The Forgetting Game)

Leibet El-Nessyan tackles the story of a young woman whose life is turned upside down after she loses her memory. Featuring conflicts, flashbacks and suspense, the series stars Dina El Sherbiny, Ingy Al-Moqaddem, Aly Kassem and Mahmoud Qabeil, among others. The series is written by Tamer Habib and the soundtrack is composed by megastar Amr Diab.





14- Lama Kona Sogayreen ( When we were young)

The events of the series revolve a suspense mood in which a group of friends experience many disasters in their lives due to a crime they have committed in the past. ‘Lama Kona Sogayreen’ series houses a notable group of Egyptian stars such as Mahmoud Hemeida, Khaled el Nabawy, Riham Haggag, Nesrine Amin, Karim Kassem, Mahmoud Hegazy among others. The series is written by Ayman Salama and directed by Mohamed Ali and Mohamed Salama.

15- Be Meet Wesh (with 100 faces)

For the 1st time on drama the two superstars Nelly Karim and Asser Yassin cooperated together in the much anticipated series ‘’ Be Meet Wesh’’.
The events take place in a comic light context, in which the two Karim and Yassin experience many comic paradoxes. Karim embodies the role of a girl working in a coiffeur, she performs in a number of con operations to be able to earn money to purchase her own hairdresser shop.

Beside Karim and Yassin , the series stars Ola Roushdy, Bayoumi Fouad, Loai Omran among others. Be Meet Wesh is written by Amr El Daly and Ahmed Wael and directed by Kamla Abou Zekri.

16- “Sukkar Zeyada” ( Extra Sugar)

For the 1st time the old times competitors Egyptian veterans Nadia el Gendy and Nabila Ebeid cooperate together in the upcoming series Sukkar Zeyada.

The series tackles the story of two ladies, who purchase the same villa from a scammer, to discover that they have been scammed once they attempt to move to the villa.

The ladies decide to live together in the same villa the matter that sparks comical feuds.


The series “Sukkar Zeyada” is taken from an American format, and is set in a comedy framework. The series stars veteran Samiha Ayoub, Hala Fakher and many guests of honor, including Ahmed el-Sakka, Nancy Ajram, Haifa Wahbe, Ahmed Fahmy, Rogina, Joumana Mourad, Lekaa' el-Khamisy, Bayoumi Fouad, Hamdi el-Marghani, Mustafa Abu Saree, Mayan el-Sayed, Badria Tolba, Hanady Mehana, Khaled Anwar and Soliman Eid. The series is written by Amin Gamal and Ibrahim Mohsen and directed by Wael Ehsan.

The theme song of "Sukkar Zeyada" performed by Nancy Ajram and entitled “El-Omr”, exceeded 1M views on YouTube in less than 24 hours. The song is written by Tamer Hussein and composed by Walid Saad.
