CAIRO - 16 April 2020: Head of the Acting Professions Syndicate Ashraf Zaki announced on April 16, the demise of late actor Ahmed Diab at the age of 75.

The late actor had worked in the field of trade before he played numerous small roles in television drama including “Opera Aida”, “El-Ragol al-Akhar”, “El-Esyan”, and others.

Diab was known for the roles he played in drama series in particular, most recently the role of the minister of culture with Adel Imam in the series "Afareet Adly Allam", in addition to his role in the series “El-Gama’a P II” playing the role of Haidar Pasha.

Diab was born on August 9, 1945, and married Rushdy Abaza's daughter before stepping into the artistic scene. They had a boy together before they separated.

Rushdy Abaza had celebrated the wedding of his only daughter, Qesmat, to Diab at the Mena House Hotel, in the presence of many celebrities and public figures. Nagwa Fouad and Fifi Abdo danced in the wedding and were joined by Abaza.

Diab’s only son lives and is married in the USA. He has a daughter, and it is mentioned that he looks very much like his grandfather, legendary Rushdy Abaza.
