CAIRO - 1 April 2020: The government report submitted by Planning Minister Hala el-Saeed to the House of Representatives confirmed the completion of 6,265 projects in various sectors at a cost of about L.E 466 billion.

The aforementioned amount includes L.E 264 million allocated to the antiquities sector to implement 17 projects.

In this regard, ET reviews the most prominent projects implemented in the antiquities sector as stated in the government's report “Harvesting the construction phase for the fiscal year 2018/2019”:

- Officially launched museums: 1

- Archaeological discoveries made: 73

- Completed antiquities restoration projects: 11

The government's report comes as one of the outputs of the national monitoring and evaluation system that was launched during the same year as the first electronic tool in Egypt to measure the performance of the country's administrative apparatus.

Through more than 2,800 indicators to measure the performance, the Egyptian government is able to monitor, follow up and evaluate the performance of all state agencies to address shortcomings by conducting urgent intervention, and by ensuring an efficient allocation of resources.

This has proven to be a practical basis that stimulates government and institutional advancement.
