CAIRO - 27 February 2020: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem issued a decision to appoint Ola Adel Abdel Gawad as director of the National Center for Translation.

It is mentioned that Ola Adel Abdel Gawad, the vice-dean of Al-Alsun Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development at Ain Shams University, received her master's degree on German yarn in comparison with Arab yarn, and got her PhD on the image of women in the Parisival saga in light of the comparison with female Arab characters.

She worked as a professor in the Department of German Language - Al-Alsun Faculty - Ain Shams University. She held various positions including director of the Training Unit; director of the Information Technology Unit; director of the Refaa Unit for Research, Development of Linguistic Information and Translation; interpreter in many scientific institutions; coordinator of many specialized programs in the German language in Cairo, among others.

She also supervised the translation of ten children's books from German into Arabic and coordinated the work between translators and Egyptian and German publishing houses.

Abdel Gawad also participated as a representative of the Arab world in the Forum of German Literature Translators, among 15 specialists from different parts of the world.
