CAIRO - 10 February 2020: Bong Joon-ho and Jin Won Han have won the best original screenplay award for “Parasite” becoming the first South Korean film to win an Oscar.

“Writing a script is always such a lonely process” said Bong Joon-ho in his acceptance speech.

'' Parasite'' took the lion's share of Academy Awards as Bong Joon-ho won best director for “Parasite”; “Parasite” won the best international feature; Bong and Han Jin-won win best original screenplay for “Parasite”.

“ We never write to represent our country. But this is very personal” Joon-ho added.

The cherry on top for the South Korean film “Parasite” that it was named best picture, a first for a foreign-language film and making a historic victory.

“I thank all the actors who are here with me today for bringing this film to life” Joon-ho recounted.

The veteran Roger Deakins won the Oscar in cinematography.

“I think they would all want me to say thank you Sam Mendes for the most wonderful experience, we'll never forget it ” Deakins said in his acceptance speech.

“The Neighbors' Window,” was the winner of the 2020 live-action short film Oscar.
