CAIRO – 19 June 2017: Impressions of Alexandria Exhibition includes rare and original collection of pictures and maps that showcases the talent and impressions of Alexandrian artists and travelers from the 15th century until the 19th century.

The exhibition also features rare pictures of Alexandria from the beginning of the 19th century until the middle of the 20th century. The collection will be highlighting the cultural aspect of the cosmopolitan city portrayed by famous writers and artists. The exhibition includes a collection of paintings from the 18th and 19th century, a number of maps dating back to the 17th and 18th century, and a group of pictures from Alexandrian mosques.

The exhibition seeks to highlight the role of Alexandria through the ages in various fields by presenting pictures, maps and documents that illustrate the importance of Alexandria culturally and socially. Impressions of Alexandria Exhibition is one of the most important permanent exhibitions affiliated to Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
