CAIRO - 9 January 2019: The Egyptian Opera House will resume its live broadcasting of the American Metropolitan Opera performances from New York.

On Jan. 11 at 8 p.m., "Opera Futsick" by Austrian author Alban Berg will be broadcast at the Small Theater. The opera is a social drama that tells the story of the soldier Futsick, whose passion and jealousy force him to kill his wife and then commit suicide.

Opera Futsick is considered one of the most important works written by Alban Berg between 1914 and 1922, drawing inspiration from a dramatic theatrical text of the same title written by the German George Buchner.

The renewal of the exclusive and live broadcasting license for the American Metropolitan shows comes in the framework of joint communication and cooperation, with the aim of creating a state of art and cultural boom in Egypt, in addition to introducing the world’s different cultures through the Opera House's plan to enrich the artistic life in Egypt.

Cairo Opera House uses high-quality sound systems and a huge display for the live broadcasting in the Small Theater. The Opera House sticks to international specifications in the live broadcasting to ensure quality.
