CAIRO - 25 December 2019: Today is the death anniversary of the famed Egyptian journalist Salah Issa, who departed our world precisely on Dec. 25, 2017.

Issa participated in the establishment and management of a number of newspapers and magazines. He was also appointed chief-in-editor of Al-Qahera newspaper. Issa was detained in 1966 because of his political views. He was detained again in the years 1968, 1972 and 1975.

He started his life as a short story writer and then in 1962 he went on to write about history, political and social thoughts. Issa has published 20 books on history, political, social thought and literature.

The late journalist Salah Issa, was able to convey the facts of the "Raya and Sakina" case under the title "Raya and Sakina’s men: A political view & a social biography" issued in 2003, in a precise journalistic way.

In the book, Issa came out to highlight the mind-boggling case of Raya and Sakina in a distinctive manner, dealing with the event realistically, and not like how it was previously transmitted; in a comical, tragic, dramatic and action manner. He covered the topic by mixing the press work with creativity.
