CAIRO – 14 December 2019: Acclaimed Egyptian comedian Mohamed Henedy will participate in MDL Beast Festival 2019 scheduled to kick off in Saudi Arabia on December 21.

Henedy’s successful play "Talat Ayam Fe el Sahel" (Three Days in North Coast) started its shows on Saudi Arabia from October 17-20 as part of Riyadh season.

This is the second show to the play in Saudi Arabia, the first was from July 3-6. The play is achieving booming success in Saudi Arabia, garnering huge revenues.

The Saudi Ambassador in Egypt Osama el Nokaly previously watched "Talat Ayam Fe el Sahel, expressing his admiration with the play.

After a 16-year hiatus, comedy star Mohamed Henedy returns to the theatre and competes with his new play "Talat Ayam Fe el Sahel."

The first show of the play was on January 10, 2019.

"Talat Ayam Fe el Sahel" houses notable cast: Ahmed Fathy, Nada Moussa, Mohamed Sarwat, Maha Abou Ouf, Bayoumi Fouad, Samia el Taraboulsi among others.The show is written by Hatem Hussein and directed by Magdy el-Hawary.

Throughout his career, acclaimed actor Mohamed Henedy achieved legendary success, confirming his talent and presence as a comedian.

He is known for his unique comical style. Henedy was born on February 1, 1965 in Giza, Egypt, and holds a bachelor’s degree from the Higher Institute of Cinema. He began his artistic career through the institute Theater, then took on small television roles.

He took on small TV roles until director Youssef Chahine gave him a role in his film ‘’Alexandria… Why?’’ in 1979 and later in Alexandria Again and Forever in 1990.

Henedy continued his career working with other prominent directors like Khairy Beshara in ‘’A Bitter Day and a Sweet Day’’ in 1988 and Atef Al Tayeb in his adaptation of Naguib Mahfouz’s masterpiece ‘’Heart of the Night’’ in 1989.

Starring in films that reaped the highest box office revenues, some of his most famous roles include those in ‘’Hamam in Amsterdam’’ in 1999, ‘’Breaking News’’ (2001), ‘’Soldiers in the Camp’’ (2003), ‘’The Great Beans of China’’ (2004), ‘’Ramadan Mabrouk Abul-Alamein Hamouda’’ (2008) and ‘’The Prince of Seas’’ (2009), among others.

He also excelled with his vocal performances in the Egyptian versions of many animated series and films including ‘’The Simpsons’’ and ‘’Monsters Inc.’’, as well as ‘’The Lion King’’.

Henedy had already become a staple name in the Egyptian cinema. He is also famous for his successful plays, some of which are considered theatrical hits in 20th century Egyptian theater.

The veteran Egyptian comedian was granted this year’s Career Achievement Award from the third edition of El Gouna Film Festival.
According to Intishal Al Timimi, Festival Director, Henedy represented a new and young generation that influenced a major change in the Egyptian cinema in the early 1990s.

“We try to select those who have the biggest influence on the industry; those whose achievements have a value that goes beyond their personal limits,” he said.
