CAIRO - 9 December 2019: The makers of the theatrical play "King Lear" starring Yahya el- Fakhrani announced that the show will stage for four days during the month of December.

The play will stage at Cairo Show Theater in the Fifth Settlement on Dec. 13, 20, 27, 31 after previously staging in KSA within the Riyadh Season. The last time the play staged in Egypt was on Nov. 22. Along with veteran actor Yehya al-Fakhrani, the play stars Ahmed Fouad Salim, Rania Farid Shawqi, Reham Abdel Ghaffour, Heba Magdy, Nidal al-Shafie, Ahmed Azmy, Ahmed Fahim, Ayman al-Shewi, Nasser seif and Hamada Shousha. The play is directed by Tamer Karam.

“King Lear” revolves around a King who decided to distribute his properties among his three daughters. His youngest daughter though was not getting along with him; therefore, he decided to refrain from giving her any inheritance. While the king was dividing the inheritance, he demanded to live with each one of the daughters for a period of time. His elder daughters decided to steal the entire inheritance, leaving their dad bankrupt and kicking him out. The irony is that his younger daughter -which he previously deprived from the inheritance- was the one who took him in.
