CAIRO - 6 November 2019: As part of the celebrations of the Egyptian-French Cultural Year 2019, Egypt will participate as a guest of honor for the first time in the 21st edition of the Corsica International Music Festival in France.

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem will attend the festival’s opening in the presence of Egypt's Ambassador to France Ehab Badawi, Egyptian Cultural Advisor in France Nevine Khaled and the mayor of Bastia on Thursday, November 7.

Abdel Dayem stated that the celebrations of the Egyptian-French Cultural Year aim to consolidate the bonds of love and friendship between the two countries and come as an affirmation of the important role of culture and arts in building bridges of communication between people. She added that the festival is organized by the Association of Musicians of Mediterranean Countries.

During the festival, Egypt will be represented by the Brass Sound Band, a band that is affiliated with the Egyptian Academy of Arts.

Abdel Dayem further pointed out that the invitation to participate confirms Egypt's civilizational leadership regionally and internationally and opens new horizons of cooperation with the Mediterranean countries, stressing that the Egyptian culture is a cornerstone in building the Mediterranean arts.

The minister explained that the reciprocal events that were launched in January include a rich program on noble values, and highlight the colors of intellectual civilization in the Egyptian and French societies
