CAIRO - 31 October 2019: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem congratulated poet Fawzi Khedr for winning the first edition of Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal International Prize for Arabic Poetry in the theatrical poetry section for his play "Sheikh President Ibn Sina."

Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Mecca and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Arab Poetry Prince Khaled Al-Faisal granted Khedr the award in the presence of his deputy Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Kheder holds a full-time grant from the Ministry of Culture. He wrote 75 publications published in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan. The veteran writer has also worked as a teacher, journalist, manuscript specialist at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, consultant at the General Authority for Cultural Palaces and a university professor.

It is worth mentioning that the prominent writer won a number of awards, including the State Encouragement Award in poetry, and the first prize in radio composition at the level of Arab radios for his program "Arab Books that Taught the World", among others.
