CAIRO - 9 October 2019: Amid a large crowd, the theatrical play "Welad el-Balad" was launched at Sharm el-Sheikh Cultural Palace, in cooperation with the Theater House, on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of October 6 victory.

“Welad el-Balad” is directed by Mohamed el-Sharkawy and is the production of the Theater House.

A satirical comedy, the theatrical play sheds light on numerous important societal issues, including corruption, national social security, illegal immigration and the sacrifices of the army and police forces on the borders and internally. The play is written by Mostafa Selim and is starring a group of young performers.

The show was attended by Governor of South Sinai Khaled Fouda, Commissioner of the Governor for Media Abdel Fattah Helmy, director of the play Mohamed el-Sharkawy, Director of Sharm el-Sheikh Cultural Palace Omaima Ismail, and Activities Manager Safaa Ammar.

It is worth mentioning that the governor praised the show, especially as it seeks to raise the awareness of young people and contributes to clarifying the facts about terrorism. Fouda thanked the organizers in Sharm el-Sheikh Cultural Palace, the General Authority for Culture Palaces and the Theater House for their efforts.

The play staged at the Theater of Sharm el-Sheikh Culture Palace, Sharm el-Sheikh Club, Sharm el-Sheikh Plateau Center, and the Open Theater of the Culture Palace in Sharm el-Sheikh, among other locations.

The show will run until Oct. 14.
