CAIRO - 7 October 2019: Ahmed Salah Hosny, one of the main actors in the film “El-Mamar” (The Passage), expressed his great happiness for being part of the film’s cast. “Proud to be part of the film’s cast, which was a mission and a message,” stated the star.

Hosny added during an interview in “Kol Youm” (Everyday) program broadcast on On E on Oct. 6 that the movie’s entire cast underwent rigorous training before shooting the scenes, the most significant ones were within the Egyptian army battalions, where the cast members learned how to deal with the different types of weapons and how to survive under extreme conditions. “I did not serve in the army before this film. However, after the film I consider myself part of the Egyptian army,” Hosny added.

Hosny explained that his role in the marine shock troops required him to undergo additional maritime training in Alexandria in a record time, explaining that the main aim of the film is to illustrate the state of war that was witnessed and experienced by the Egyptian army.

In addition, the star pointed out that the film’s cast aimed to clarify the Egyptian Armed Forces’ efforts and heroic actions.

Hosny explained that during the filming the cast took countless risks, ending up with some physical injuries, especially in the scenes of bombings, which were among the most dangerous scenes to be ever filmed in the Egyptian cinema.

“El-Mamar” is written and directed by Sherif Arafa. It was initially released to movie theaters on June 4, 2019 and is still trending.
