CAIRO - 26 September 2019: The 19th edition of Amman International Book Fair, organized by the Jordanian Publishers Association, will kick off at the International Automotive Center in Amman, from Sept. 26 to Oct. 5.

The exhibition will witness a number of cultural and artistic events, as well as book signing ceremonies of prominent Arab and Jordanian writers.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Regional Conference of the International Publishers Association will be held on September 30 and October 1 -within the activities of the 19th edition- in an attempt to highlight the role of reading in the future of the Arab world, and to combat reader’s challenges of accessing books, especially students and refugees.

The Amman International Book Fair comes under the slogan "Reading is Life". Tunisia is the guest of honor of the exhibition in its 19th edition, with the participation of 22 countries and 350 Arab and foreign publishing houses. Jordanian poet Amjad Nasser was chosen as the cultural figure of the year.

It is noteworthy that the number of Egyptian publishing houses participating in the exhibition’s 19th edition totaled up to 63 publishing houses directly participate through the set pavilions, in addition to the participation of a number of other agencies on behalf of publishing houses, as well as the participation of publishing sectors in the Ministry of Culture represented in the National Center for Translation, Supreme Council of Culture and the General Authority for Writers.

The organizers of the Amman International Book Fair also prepared intellectual and cultural seminars, in addition to poetry evenings, book signings, as well as readings of stories and plays for children.
