SITFY launches application forms in English, Arabic

CAIRO - 22 September 2019: Sharm el - Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth, headed by Mazen Gharbawi, launched the application form for participation in its fifth edition, running from April 1-7, 2020.

The festival's management has set December 31, 2019 as the deadline for submitting applications for all theatrical groups from around the world.

The festival, through its official website, placed two copies of the application form in Arabic and English.

The president and founder of the festival explained that the form is launched in the specified period, but the festival receives other offers throughout the year through some international programmers who nominate offers to the festival and is selected by the viewing committee.

The festival selects its shows using two methods; through the selection of performances nominated by international programmers and the other through applicants filling the festival’s application form.

The festival’s management has also set more than 14 conditions for participation in the festival, including; giving the priority when selecting performers to young directors, the director applying for participation must not exceed 40 years of age, the performing shows must be written by youth and the participating show must be a duration of no more than 90 minutes.

It is noteworthy that the honorary president of the Sharm el - Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth is veteran actress Samiha Ayoub and the Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the festival is the iconic actor Mohamed Sobhi. The festival is managed by Angy el-Bastawi.

The festival will be held under the patronage of Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda, Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi, Ministry of Tourism Rania al - Mashat and the Tourism Promotion Authority headed by Ahmed Youssef and Ola Gamal el Din - Head of the Domestic Tourism Sector.
