CAIRO - 14 September 2019: Nine Egyptian stars are nominated for Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi (KCA) 2019.

There are 16 voting categories that include Favourite International Star award, Favourite Music Video award, Favourite Influencer award, Favourite TV Personality award, among others.

The Egyptian stars that were nominated are the Egyptian bands: Sharmoofers and Boy Band for the Favourite Group award, famed singer Mohamed El Sharnouby for the Favourite Male Newcomer award, and actress and model Salma Abu Deif for the Favourite Female Newcomer award.

Famed Egyptina singer Carmen Soliman has also been nominated for Favourite Female Artist, while Egyptian star Mohamed Hamaki was nominated for the Favourite Male Artist award.

As for the Favourite Female Actress award, starlet Donia Samir Ghanem is the Egyptian nominee, while Amr Youssef and Mohamed Ramadan were nominated for the Favourite Actor award.

Winners of the KCA will be announced on the 20th of September.

Sharmoofers recently released their latest album “Enfesam” (Schizophrenia). In 2012, Ahmed Bahaa, Mohamed el-Arkan and Ezz Shahwan got together & formed Sharmoofers; since then they’ve been impacting the world’s youth with positive groovy music.

Starting off online, the band’s music has managed to reach millions, and they have more than 588,000 followers on Facebook and are growing more popular on social media.

They first performed on Bassem Youssef's “Bernameg” show in 2013 and then performed live at a concert at Al-Azhar Park in 2014.

Sharmoofers are known for using unique lyrics, far away from the traditional common lyrics fans got used to.

The Egyptian band is known for their spontaneous and funny ways of performing. Sharmoofers caused a state of havoc with their latest song “Zamba” which promotes breaking the daily routine and enjoying jolly music to avoid negativity and be happy no matter what.

The band chose the name “Zamba” for their video clip. Red Indian style costumes with really shiny and bizarre colors were chosen for the clip.

Sharmoofers surprised their fans recently after releasing their first romantic song, titled “Moftaked el Habiba” (I Miss a Lover), including a video featuring famous Egyptian actress Yasmine Raeis.


The clip of "Moftaqed el-Habiba" was directed by Hady el-Bagory. Sharmoofers already won the following awards in their short career:

Sharnouby


Sharnouby’s new album, “Zay el-Fesool el-Arba`a” (Like the Four Seasons), gained very positive reactions.

Sharnouby cooperated in this album, which houses 10 songs, with a notable group of composers such as Tamer Aly, Yehia Youssef, Tamim, Mohamed Yehia, Ehab Abdel Wahed, Osama el Hady, Yehia Haky, among others, in addition to prominent song writers like Amir Teima, Ayman Bahgat Qamar and Tamer Hussein.

This album comes after the great success achieved by his song “El-Nafseya” (The Mood) which he has been recently released. The song achieved high viewership on YouTube, amassing millions of views.

The song is written by poet Ayman Bahgat Qamar and composed by Mohamed Yehia.
Sharnouby partcipated in “El-Mamar” (The Passage) movie, starring Ahmed Ezz and directed by Sherif Arafa.

“El-Mamar” (The Passage) revolves around one of the heroic stories of the Egyptian Armed Forces. Sharnouby performed numerous songs in the movie, which makes it more special.

Sharnouby started performing in a television series named “Wekalet Ateya” (Ateya’s Agency) in 2008. Following his role in the TV series, he then performed in the movie “El-Safah” (The Killer), but he has focused more on television since then.

The young star also performed the promotional song of the World Youth Forum, held in Sharm El-Sheikh, under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi. Titled “Bahlam Bemakan” (I dream of a place); the song achieved great success.


Hamaki's “Mel Bedaya” (From the beginning) has amassed millions of views on YouTube since it was uploaded on Hamaki’s official YouTube channel on January 24.

The song is written by Amir Teima, composed by Amr Mostafa, and distributed by Nader Hamdy. “Mel Bedaya” is among the songs of Hamaki’s new album "Kol Yom Men Dah".

Hamaki took a bold step in his new album as he presented 20 songs and collaborated with many poets including Ayman Bahgat Kamar, Khaled Tag el-Din, Amir Teima, among others.

Hamaki also collaborated with composers Amr Mostafa, and Mohamed Yahya and distributor Nader Hamdy.


Hamaki released his latest album "Kol Youm mn Dah" on January 24, 2019. This album came after a 3-year hiatus since his last album "Omro Ma Yegheeb".

Hamaki cooperated in this album with a notable cast of song writers, composers and distributors such as Ayman Bahgat Kamar, Nader Abdallah, Tamer Hussein, Amir Teima, Khaled Tag, Sherif Tag, Amr Mostafa, Tamim, Mohamed Yehia among others.

Hamaki is an Egyptian singer born on November 4, 1975.

He won many awards such as Best Arabic Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Music Award in 2006 for "Ahla Haga Fiki" (The best thing about you) album, Best Singer in 2016 at Murex D’Or, Best Middle Eastern Artist in 2016 at the BAMA (Big Apple Music Awards) Festival, Best Singer and Best Song for "Ma Balash" in 2015 at the MEMA (Middle East Music Awards) Festival, among others.

Hamaki is one of the jury members of "The Voice" program alongside Nawal al-Kuwaitia, Elissa, and Assi al-Hellani.

He is considered one of the most prominent pop singers in Egypt and the Arab world. On July 3, 2011, Hamaki was rushed to the hospital after suffering multiple heart attacks while recording.

On December 7, 2011 Hamaki married Nahla el-Hagry and divorced her in 2014. Two years after their divorce, Hamaki and Nahla were reunited in July 2016.

Hamaki announced that his wife had delivered a girl named Fatma on June 6, 2017.
