The Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamad al Sharqi Award for Creativity has gained importance and prestige on the map of Arab events as it has become the most prominent Arab platform to celebrate Arab creators of different generations in seven branches of the Award: Novel for both adult and youth, short story, theatrical text, child literature, poetry and critical studies.

Mohammed Saif al Afkham, director of Fujairah International Arts Festival and chairman of the International Theater Association, said “The choice of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to be the starting point for the announcement of the second edition of the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamad al Sharqi Award for Creativity came from the historical status of Egypt, which embraced and shone through our Arab history of genius literary creations."
