CAIRO - 27 August 2019: During his visit to the Ministry of Antiquities, Greek Ambassador Michael Diamesses praised the ministry's efforts to preserve Egypt's archaeological and cultural heritage, raise awareness of the Egyptian civilization and promote tourism.

The Greek ambassador in Cairo said the ministry has announced several new archaeological discoveries, in addition to opening many important museums and archaeological projects, which he described as a boom because of its positive impact on the world and on tourism in Egypt.

Diamesses also thanked the ministry for the valuable events it holds, which enable ambassadors from different countries to see and learn about the beauty and uniqueness of the Egyptian civilization.

The Greek ambassador further said that the events the ministry holds were one of the reasons why he enjoyed his time as an ambassador to Cairo, expressing his desire to attend the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, despite the end of his tenure as the Greek ambassador to Egypt.
