CAIRO – 29 July 2019: The play “Youm an Katalo el-Genaa" (The Day they Killed Singing) will stage on Taliaa theatre starting Monday, July 29 and will continue for 15 shows.
The play was first displayed in 2017 and achieved a booming success.

"Youm an Katalo el-Genaa’" presents the struggle between two brothers in their quest for the cause of existence and mysteries of the universe.
It examines the conflict between the spirit of tolerance and love on the one hand, with fanaticism and hatred on the other.

The play is composed by Mahmoud Gamal and directed by Tamer Karam, starring Alaa Quqa, Yasser Sadek, Hamada Shousha, Taha Khalifa, among others.
The play opened on March 30, 2017 and was awarded the first-place prize at the 10th edition of the National Festival of Egyptian Theatre.

“Youm an Katalo el-Ghena” is one of the most unique and varied plays that continues to prove successful for the second consecutive year. Prominent theatrical critics Azza Heikal, Ahmed Khamis, Yasmine Farrag and Rana Abdel Kawy chose it to be one of the best four plays in 2017.
