CAIRO - 22 July 2019: The Summer Festival in Alexandria will host MTM Band on Wednesday, August 21 at the open theater of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The band started preparing for their new album, choosing the best songs from a wide range of options.

The band’s latest songs was a duet with Karim Mohsen entitled “Bos Kowayes” (Look closely), written by Amaar Mostafa, and composed by Taki and Amro el Shazli. The video clip is directed by Ahmed el-Bendari.

MTM is an Egyptian hip-hop band. They are considered the pioneering Egyptian rap crew, as they put Egyptian rap into the spotlight, releasing two albums: “Omy Mesafra” (My Mother is Travelling) in 2003, and “Telephony Beyren” (My Phone is Ringing) in 2004.

M.T.M is composed of three members who met in 1997 in Alexandria, Egypt. The group's name comes from the initials of the first name of the singers Mikey, Taki, and Mahmoud.

Mahmoud (born 1981) and Mikey (born 1980) both hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and the youngest member Takki (born 1982) holds a law degree.

The group launched their first album in September 2003, introducing eight songs including their hit song “Omy mesafra”. Their second album was launched in July 2004.

This debut music video was a successful start which identified their style and position in the music industry.

After a brief hiatus following the success of "Omi Msafra", MTM is back near the top of Egypt's video charts with their new single "Zay Manta Ayez" (As You Like).
