Photographing for free in all the Egyptian museums starting August 1

CAIRO – 6 July 2019: The Ministry of Antiquities announced that the visitors of the Egyptian museums and archaeological sites will be allowed to take photos using cell phones for free starting from August 1.

The head of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziry announced that this decision will help in promoting the Egyptian Antiquities, archaeological sites and museums.

‘’ These photos will promote our great and unique ancient Egyptian civilization and uplift tourism’’ Waziry added.

The head of the Supreme council of Antiquities further added that the mobile flash will not be allowed while taking photos.

The director of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir square Sabah Abel Razek said that this decision will promote the Egyptian artifacts.

‘’ The visitors will post these photos on their social media accounts, thus spreading information about our museums and introduce them to the whole world, it will be like a free publicity’’ Abdel Razek added.
