CAIRO - 24 June 2019: Nine months have passed since the death of Algerian Rai music legend Rachid Taha on the backdrop of a sudden heart attack in September 2018.

Despite the grief and sadness he has left in the hearts of millions of his fans around the world, his memory is still alive and will last, being further revived in conjunction with the release of his latest album.

"I'm African" is the name chosen by Rachid Taha to be the title of his new album, but unfortunately he will not personally witness its release.

The late Rai legend worked on the album day and night for two years, as revealed by his son Elias Taha, who decided to perpetuate his father’s memory through his latest music album that will be released on September 20, which almost coincides with the first anniversary of Rachid's death at the age of 59 years.

The album's publicity campaign officially launched with the release of his main song "I'm African".

“My father spent the last two years of his life working on this album,” said Elias Taha. “This last album is like him, in his uniqueness, in his madness, in his freedom,” continues Elias. “I hope you help make Rachid Taha's lyrics and music sound louder and louder”.
